FAQ's

Q. How do we get started using your service?

A. All you need to get started is a signed Service Agreement (contract) and one month of your current utilities and telecommunications vendor bills.

Q. What will you need from us?

A. Only some basic information is needed from you, such as copies of tax exemption letters (state and/or federal) and a Letter of Authorization. Your account representative will walk you through the process.

Q. What is the time involvement for our staff?

A. The time involvement for you and your staff is minimal. With the convenience of our in-office audit, you simply send one month's bill copies to us and we do all the work from our facilities.

Q. How do you get paid?

A. UAC's fee is based on your actual recovery. There is no out-of-pocket expense on your part and best of all, your future savings are all yours.

Q. What is your fee?

A. The fee for our service is 50% of the monies actually recovered, paid after you receive the recovery. Processing refunds can be time-consuming and costly. The experts at UAC will efficiently and effectively navigate the channels of bureaucracy to recover ALL your refund.

Q. What sort of bills do you review?

A. Any vendor bill you send to us will be reviewed. Taxes are typically found and recovered in the following areas: (1) all telecommunications, including local, long distance, wireless, pagers, internet, cable and satellite; (2) power, including electric and gas; and (3) other services such as water, sewer, garbage, alarm systems and postage meters.

Q. Will you protect our good working relationship with our vendors?

A. Absolutely. UAC has time-tested relationships with vendors across the country. We don't "ruffle feathers" between you and your vendors. Vendors understand our service and cooperate with us.

Q. What if our vendor will not credit or refund our money?

A. If your vendor will not credit or refund your money, we will file a claim with the appropriate state or federal taxing authority. (Note: if this occurs, we may need additional bill copies from you.)

Q. How many years can you go back to recover money for us?

A. Federal law enables us to retrieve past taxes for up to 36 months (3 years), and most state statutes are the same. Note: some states do not exempt non-profit organizations from all taxes.
IMPORTANT! Once the three-year statute expires, you can never recover these taxes!

Q. Will you show us how to make sure we're not being taxed any longer?

A. Yes. All your accounts will be tax-exempt when your audit is completed. In addition you will know what to look for in the future should you open new accounts or make changes to existing ones.
